The elephant has long been the icon of the Republican Party.

Reptide was conceived at the Hollis Republican Committee meeting in the Summer of 2022. The idea was generated by a photo that was shared by the Republicans in Cumberland County, who had a wooden elephant in a parade.   The Republicans in York County were inspired to do the same!

The concept was delivered to Mr. Doug Libbey, the treasurer for Rev. David Corbett, the GOP Senate Candidate in District 32, who manufactured “blueprints” for the project.  Doug made sets for small elephants and sets for a larger elephant.  He was then asked to make the elephant larger and he did so.

The prints were delivered to Rev. Corbett. He took the prints and over a two-week period, completed one large elephant and two small elephants. The large elephant made his debut in the Buxton parade, followed by the Hollis parade and then on to the Acton Fair. The small elephant was placed on the Republican Booth at the Acton Fair.

The name of the large elephant is Reptide and the smaller elephant is Reptide Junior. Reptide received its name for the following reasons:

Rep = for the State of Maine and the United States, which is a Republic, not a Democracy (as the Democrats are fond of saying).

Rep = We are Republicans.

Rep= Stands for Representatives who serve the people in the executive and legislative branches of government.  Representatives are to be servants to the people they represent and not social elites doing their own bidding.

Tide = The citizens of Maine are expecting a Red Wave to roll across the State of Maine. This wave will come in like a tide to wash out the Democratic Party progressives and clean up the Democrat Party in hopes that they may join us as patriots, seeking the good of America. Our laws must once again create justice for all and stand for truth and what is right!
